Camptonville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Yuba County, California, United States. The population was 1,823 at the 2010 census, up from 1,485 at the 2000 census.
Camptonville is located 2 miles (3 km) north of Marysville and is part of the Yuba City Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The community was founded in the late 19th century as a mining town, and its name is derived from the Campo de los Voluntarios mine that was operated by the California Gold Rush pioneer, James K. Polk. The town's economy has historically been based on agriculture, particularly the cultivation of peaches and other fruits. Today, Camptonville is a rural residential community with a mix of old and new homes, as well as several small businesses and organizations.
Camptonville is known for its historic architecture, including many preserved buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The town also features several parks and recreational areas, including the Camptonville Community Park and the Yuba River Park.
