The Tombigbee River is a river in the state of Alabama and Mississippi, United States. It is about 280 miles (450 km) long and flows through the Black Belt region of the two states. The river is formed by the confluence of the Buttahatchee River and the Sucarnoochee River near the town of Brently in Sumter County, Alabama. It flows generally southwestward through the two states, passing through several lakes and reservoirs, including Lake Eufaula, Lake Martin, and Lake Tuscaloosa. The river empties into the Mobile River at Mobile Bay, Alabama.
