Oligophagous Animals: Specialized Diet for Limited Food Sources
Oligophagous (oligo- "few" + -phagous "eating") refers to an animal that feeds on a limited number of food sources or a narrow range of prey. In other words, oligophagous animals have a specialized diet and do not eat many different types of food.
For example, the giant panda is an oligophagous herbivore, as it only eats certain species of bamboo. Similarly, the koala is oligophagous because it only eats eucalyptus leaves.
