Postulants in Religious Orders: Understanding the Process of Discernment and Formation
Postulants are individuals who have applied to become members of a religious order or congregation, but have not yet been accepted as full members. During the period of postulation, they undergo a period of formation and discernment to determine their suitability for membership. If they are found to be suitable, they may be admitted to the novitiate and begin their formal training as members of the order or congregation.
