Sir John Gielgud (1904-2000) was a British actor, director, and producer who had a long and distinguished career on stage and screen. He is considered one of the greatest actors of the 20th century, known for his versatility, intelligence, and nuanced performances.

Gielgud was born in London and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).
