Understanding Aspect in Art and Photography

Aspect refers to the way in which a subject or object is viewed or portrayed in a work of art. It can refer to the angle from which the subject is depicted, the lighting and shading used to create depth and volume, and the overall composition of the piece. Aspect can also refer to the relationship between different elements within the work, such as the size and placement of figures or objects within the frame.

In photography, aspect refers specifically to the ratio of the image's width to its height, which determines the shape of the frame.
