Understanding Centimos: The Subunit of the Chilean Peso
Centimos (singular: centimo) is the subunit of the Chilean peso, equivalent to 1/100th of a peso. It is used for accounting and financial purposes, but not as a widely used denomination in everyday transactions.
For example, if you buy something that costs 250 pesos, you would pay 250 x 100 = 25,000 centimos.
The use of centimos is similar to the use of cents in other currencies, such as the US dollar.
