Understanding Logout: Why and How It Works
Logout is a process of terminating a user's session on a website or application. When a user logs out, they are no longer connected to the system and their session is ended. This can be done for security reasons, such as to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information, or to enforce password changes or other security policies.
Logout can be initiated by the user themselves, by clicking on a "logout" button or link, or it can be automatic, such as when the user closes their web browser or reaches a specific time limit.
When a user logs out, they may be prompted to re-enter their login credentials the next time they try to access the system, in order to verify their identity and ensure that they are who they claim to be.
