Understanding Postmeridian Time: Afternoon and Early Evening Hours
Postmeridian refers to the time after noon, or more specifically, the time between 12:00 PM (noon) and 6:00 PM. This term is used in astronomy and navigation to describe the period of time when the sun is above the horizon, but has already passed its highest point for the day.
In other words, postmeridian refers to the afternoon and early evening hours, during which the sun's position in the sky is declining. This term is often used in contrast to the premeridian period, which refers to the morning hours before noon.
