Understanding Resectable Cancer: What It Means and Treatment Options
Resectable refers to a cancer that can be removed or treated with surgery. In other words, the cancer is localized and has not spread to other parts of the body. When a cancer is resectable, it means that the surgeon can remove the tumor and some surrounding tissue, potentially curing the cancer. However, if the cancer is not resectable, it means that it cannot be removed with surgery and other treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy may be necessary.
