What is an Aerobiont?
Aerobiont comes from the Greek words "aero" meaning air and "bios" meaning life. It refers to an organism that requires oxygen for its metabolic processes, such as photosynthesis or respiration. In other words, aerobionts are living organisms that need oxygen to survive.
Examples of aerobionts include humans, animals, plants, and many microorganisms like bacteria and yeast. These organisms use oxygen to convert nutrients into energy and to perform other essential functions. In contrast, anaerobic organisms do not require oxygen and can survive in its absence.
