What is A.U. in Art and Design?
A.U. stands for "Artistic Unit". It is a term used in the context of art and design to refer to a standardized unit of measurement that represents the size of a particular artwork or design element, such as a logo or graphic symbol. The A.U. is typically expressed as a multiple of the height of the letter "M" (for "mille" or "thousand"), with common values including 1M (1000), 2M (2000), 3M (3000), and so on.
For example, if an artwork is described as having an A.U. of 2M x 3M, it means that the artwork is 2000 x 3000 pixels in size. This standardized measurement system allows designers and artists to easily communicate the size of their work to clients and other stakeholders, regardless of the specific device or platform being used to display the artwork.
