Alamance County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 156,399. Its county seat is Graham. The county was formed in 1849 from parts of Caswell and Orange counties. It is named for the Battle of Alamance, which took place in the area in 1781 during the American Revolutionary War.
