Exploring Armenia's Diverse Landscape and Rich History

Armenia is a country located in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia. It is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran to the south. The country has a population of around 3 million people and a total area of approximately 29,800 square kilometers (11,500 square miles).
Armenia has a diverse landscape, with mountains covering most of the country. The highest peak is Mount Aragats, which stands at 4,090 meters (13,400 feet) above sea level. The country also has several rivers, including the Araxes and the Tigris, as well as numerous lakes and forests.

The country gained independence from Russia in 1918 but was annexed by the Soviet Union in 1920. Armenia regained its independence in 1991 with the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Today, Armenia is a parliamentary democracy with a growing economy and a diverse culture. The country is known for its rich heritage of ancient monuments, including the Geghard Monastery and the Echmiadzin Cathedral, as well as its vibrant contemporary arts scene.
