Gytheion: A Hidden Gem in Laconia, Greece

Gytheion (Greek: Γυθείον, pronounced [ˈɣithe.on]) is a small town and a former municipality in Laconia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Sparti, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The town is situated on the eastern coast of the Peloponnese, about 5 km south of the city of Sparta.
