Understanding Picowatts: The Unit of Power for Small Electronic Devices
A picowatt (pW) is a unit of power that is equal to one trillionth (10^-12) of a watt. It is often used to measure the power consumption of small electronic devices, such as sensors or microcontrollers, that require very low power levels.
To put this into perspective, a typical household light bulb consumes around 100 watts of power, so a picowatt is equivalent to just one ten-billionth of the power consumed by that light bulb.
Picowatts are often used in scientific research and engineering applications where very low power levels need to be measured or controlled. For example, in quantum computing, picowatts are used to measure the power consumption of quantum bits (qubits) and other components of quantum computers.
