Unlocking the Secrets of Mesaticephali: A Journey Through the Middle Jurassic Period
Mesaticephali is a suborder of the order Cephaloptera, which includes beetles that have a distinctive head shape and are characterized by the presence of a distinctive suture (a joint or seam) between the frontal lobe and the rest of the head. The name "mesaticephali" comes from the Greek words "mesos," meaning "middle," and "cephale," meaning "head." This suborder is thought to have evolved in the Middle Jurassic period, around 165-170 million years ago.
