Idiothermic refers to an organism or a system that maintains a constant body temperature, regardless of the temperature of its surroundings. This means that the organism or system is able to regulate its internal temperature independently of the external environment.

In addition to animals, some machines and electronic devices are also considered idiothermic because they can maintain a constant operating temperature, regardless of the ambient temperature. For example, a computer or a refrigerator is an idiothermic device because it can regulate its internal temperature to maintain a stable operating condition, even if the room temperature changes.
