Understanding Shahdom in Islamic Tradition
Shahdom (شاهدم) is the Persian word for "witness" or "testimony". In Islamic tradition, a shahdom is someone who has personally witnessed an event or a miracle performed by a prophet or a saint. The term is often used to describe the accounts of such witnesses, which are considered reliable and authoritative sources of information about the life and teachings of the prophets and saints.
In Islamic law, shahdom is also used to refer to the testimony of a witness in a legal case. In this context, the word carries the same meaning as it does in English: someone who has personally observed an event or situation and can provide firsthand account of what they saw or experienced.
